This heritage design honors the Native nations whose ancestors hunted, traveled, traded, and held sacred connections to this remarkable landscape for thousands of years. Featuring the Crow name Bide-Mahpe and the Minnetaree (Hidatsa) name Mi Tse A-Da-Zi, it also pays tribute to the Kiowa, Eastern Shoshone, Nez Perce, Cayuse, Blackfeet, Bannock, and Umatilla peoples who walked these lands long before the park's establishment.
